SWIFTLY Green

SWIFTLY Green aims for developing a toolbox of best practice, methods and measures for greening of transports in TEN-T corridors. The geographical focus will be along the TEN-T core network corridor Helsinki-Valetta, which coincides with the Rail Freight Corridor 3, Stockholm-Palermo and the ERTMS Corridor B, Stockholm-Naples. Intermodality is the key to greening of transports and SWIFTLY Green will cover all the relevant modes of transport in the corridor.
SWIFTLY Green will build upon the results of numerous green corridor projects, such as SuperGreen, TransBaltic, Scandria, Sonora, Green String, GreCOR and many others. The results of the project can provide input to the implementation of the TEN-T programme in the period 2014-2021, giving concrete advice on how to use TEN-T funding for greening of transports.
SWIFTLY Green will utilize the knowledge from projects as well as from practical experience from the transport sector, industry and infrastructure managers. The individual partners are important for showing their best practice, developed solutions and business cases but also to contribute to the concrete development of TEN-T Green Corridors.

The project is funded by the Seventh Framework Programme of the European Commission.

Project period: September 2012 - August 2015.
